Eucalyptus , Natural Dye and Herb
There are hundreds of different species of Eucalyptus trees and shrubs. Eucalyptus is also know as Gum, and grow in tropical and sub tropical regions of the world with being frost intolerant and evergreen.
The wood is used in production for pulp for paper making, digeridoos, the a traditional Australian Aboriginal wind instrument.
The oils produced are used for sweets, cough drops, medicines, and toothpastes.
It can also be used as a natural dye for textiles producing greens or yellows.
Color yield will vary depending on water ph , water temperature, and mordant. Mordants used in yarn samples are from left to right alum, tin,chrome, iron.
