Crystallized Ginger Root
This is ginger root that has been thinly sliced, boiled in syrup, and then rolled in sugar producing candied ginger root.
Crystallized Ginger is used in many baking recipes, especially for gingerbread, quick breads, cookies, and fruit cakes.
It is also said the Crystallized Ginger will calm an upset stomach or can be enjoyed by eating the ginger like candy.
