Chai Tea

Chai is merely the generic word for "tea" in South Asia.
Traditionally, cardamom is a dominant note, supplemented by other spices such as cloves, ginger, or black pepper; the latter two add a pleasantly piquant flavor.
Some of the chai masala spice mixtures still in current use are derived from Ayurvedic medical texts.

How many cups of tea will this make?
Our teas are sold by weight.
Depending on the ingredients, some teas have more volume than others.
With that in mind, our bags of tea make anywhere from 15 to 30 cups of tea, using 1 teaspoon of tea per cup. For example : Licorice Spice Herbal Tea would be on the low end, while Earl Grey Lavender will be on the high end.
The size of the bags of tea in our pictures are 4 inches by 6 inches, before they are filled and sealed. This may help you in determining how much volume of tea is in each bag.
