Jacob Wool Yarn, Natural Color Black
This wool yarn was spun from our finest Jacob Fleece raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Our sheep wore coats year round to protect the wool from sun damage and contamination.
The Jacob breed of sheep has been known since ancient times. It is white with black spots, 2 or 4 horned, that takes it's name from the Biblical story of Jacob
The breed has been depicted in medieval paintings and drawings.
This yard was custom spun for us , 2 ply, at approx. 1200 yards per pound finished thickness.
There is approx. 300 yards in each 4 oz. skein.

Black wool was separated out of the multicolor fleece to produce a soft natural black yarn
Suitable for use on size 4 though 8 knitting needles.
