Podophyllum peltatum, also known as wild mandrake and witches umbrella, is not related to the European Mandrake,Atropa mandragora, formerly Mandragora officinalis. However, it is reported and used to have the same magical qualities.
It has been used in magic rituals, also in neopagan religions such as Wicca and Germanic revivalism religions such as Odinism.
